Permatex Rust Treatment is a versatile solution that effectively destroys old rust and prevents the formation of new rust in a single step. This easy-to-use product can be simply brushed or sprayed onto the affected surface, and within minutes, the rust is replaced by a durable black polymer coating that serves as an excellent protective primer, allowing for subsequent painting.

Specially formulated for use with body filler and fiberglass, this rust treatment can be applied in temperatures ranging from 50°F to 90°F (10°C to 32°C) and on surfaces that do not exceed 200°F (93°C). It is suitable for a wide range of automotive applications, including trucks, trailers, storage tanks, pipes, valves, fences, bulkheads, overheads, decks, hatch covers (which can be topcoated with appropriate marine paint), agricultural equipment, plows, tractors, and snow removal equipment.

However, it is not recommended for automotive exterior sheet metal repairs.
